Here is today's fun fact!!

The number of employees at the Aztar in 2005 was 1,174. In 2010, 949. That is a 24% drop!

The number of employees at the Harrah in IL in 2005 was 835. In 2010, 682. That is a 22% drop.

So over the past 5 years, Aztar has had great employee reductions than Metropolis.

Aztar's biggest drop happened in 2007, going from 1174 in 2006 to 946 in 2007. A 24% drop.

Metropolis biggest drop happened in 2008, going from 826 in 2007 to 671 in 2008, a 23% drop.

So if IL supposedly cut employees because of a smokefree air law in 2008, what is Aztar's reason for letting go a higher percentage the year before with no law?

November 2, 2010 - Smokefree Air Update for Indiana

Dear Indiana Campaign for Smokefree Air supporter,

The Indiana Campaign for Smokefree Air is praising members of the Indiana General Assembly's bicameral Health Finance Commission who supported draft language for a bill that would require all public places in Indiana to be smokefree. A bill is expected to be introduced in the coming weeks by State Reps. Charlie Brown (D-Gary) and Eric Turner (R-Cicero).
